Hitting my goal of $100 for this month may be a little difficult since I'm just now getting my adsense account up and running (it's not actually there yet but an "adsense pro" is working on my case). I do however have my amazon and kontera accounts up and running on my hub pages and I have put amazon on my blogger blog. I've also set up a OpenX ad server for the sites that I'm building and have managed to pull in 2 cents in revenue from that, which isn't that bad seeing as these sites are still in development and have pretty much no traffic. Considering pushing my goals back one month and therefore having $100 profit being my goal for August, will look at how July turns out before making that decision.
Got to get back to learning PHP, MySQL, and writing articles.
Peace!

Been Busy but little progress
Over the past few weeks I've been busy with a few different ideas and opportunities I've come across. First, I've continued to expand my post runner site which now has several articles on it, some of which are full length and others are short link building articles submitted by others. I've begun creating a article directory which I intend to be something similar to Hub Pages or Squidoo. I've written a series of backlink articles and submitted them using the postrunner system. Overall, progress has been slow so far as I'm also trying to learn to write PHP/MySQL/Javascript.
I also got distracted by an opportunity to work on marketing and monetizing a Facebook fantasy football game. Not sure if it is going to get anywhere since the game's developer appears to be putting the project on hold for the time being. I learned a lot about marketing and monetizing while doing a substantial amount of background research for the project which I believe I will be able to transfer over into my Passive Income projects.
I'm still working on getting a Adsense account (a month later) but my inquiry has been submitted to be reviewed by an actual Google employee so I'm hopeful it will get worked out soon. I'm going to reapply for a Amazon account this week now that I have some content on my sites (got rejected for applying before I had something to show them). Unfortunately, I didn't meet my goal of breaking even for June due mostly to the slow progress and my lack of accounts to monetize. I was only down about $20 which isn't bad. My goal for this month is to create a profit of $100. The success of this being highly dependent on whether or not I get a Adsense and Amazon account within a reasonable time frame.

Passive Income - Week 3
Now at week 3 I have my postrunner site set up and have accepted my first 2 articles. I'm also getting ready to post a couple of my own articles on the site and starting to write summary articles to create backlinks. I've finished messing with my class site after attempting to add a forum to it and struggling with that on and off for a week. Now that is taken care of and I can focus on creating income. I have been unable to register for a adsense account due to have a past account that I have now shutdown but am waiting for that to go all the way through (I'm told it could take a couple weeks). I have also created a hubpage article that I have posted. Unfortunately I am unable to monetize anything due to the lack of adsense although I am going to apply for an Amazon Associate account this week to monetize a couple sites with. Overall, I'm very behind on article writing but will be very busy this week with other business and therefore will not likely be able to catch up until next week.

Passive Income - First Week
Little over a week in and I've gotten the ball rolling on my path to passive income. First of all, the web site for my class is 90% done. We have 50 registered users and the transfer to my reseller account is complete after 2 days of problems. I had already identifies my first keyword and found a partner to help me write content for it in return for a profit share. Finding partners to help me write content or at least edit it will be a key issue for me as my writing abilities are by no means impressive. I'm science and technology focused; words just aren't my friends.
Back on topic, I have created two support sites for my target keyword (1 a blogger account, the other an actual site set up with The Keyword Academy's Postrunner system). Both the support sites are up and running and I will begin to write a series of posts for both of them this weekend. The goal being to produce 5 articles for each site this weekend to be released over the course of this week. Using the Postrunner system I should be able to also pull in a number of outside articles on various topics to help build up authority for that site and therefore add power to the links it gives to my main keyword site. I'm planning to register and set up my keyword site this weekend once I settle on a domain name for it.
I have also been discussing several other niches I've discovered with another potential partner and my likely have another project in the pipeline. All of this on top a web portal I'm looking to create for a group of 1,300 individuals. I've calculated both a conservative and an aggressive revenue prediction for the site and either way, as long as it's accepted, it provide me with a fairly steady income with minimal maintenance.
The opportunities are out there, just got to get on my game.
P.S. If anyone needs web hosting, I'll be happy to offer it at a insanely low rate. Just send me a message :-p I have available slots on the server and I gotta offset the hosting cost a little while I'm not drawing income.
FYI:
Keyword Academy
The Keyword Academy is a couple of experienced internet marketers who provide a series of informative videos about SEO and Monetization. They also offer a keyword analyzer tool and the Postrunner system that allows you to either submit articles to sites in the network or join the publisher network and receive niche articles in return for leaving their backlinks in the article. Playing it from either side should be very beneficial and I intend to experiment with both.

First Step to Passive Income
I've made the first step in creating my stream of passive income! I've been tied up for the past couple weeks in launching an alumni website for my college graduating class. That site is launching today after we move servers so I will spend a considerable amount of time today working through the move and then assisting the new users with registration as well as troubleshooting any problems that come up. The reason for the move being that I've signed up for a reseller hosting account with Green Geeks and will have our alumni site as my first client. Of course I'm charging them a very low fee (a few bucks a month which will easily be covered by our ad space sales) but it will still help to offset the costs of the account.
Possibilities
Opening a reseller account gives me the ability to open multiple websites for a low cost and also resell hosting services as well as domain names to offset the cost of my overall hosting. Not to mention with the proper marketing I could make a fairly decent passive income off of the subscription fees, but the hosting market is over saturated as it is so I think I'll pass on this idea.

Passive Income - The Beginning
Welcome to my experimental journey through the world of passive income. I've decided to attempt to create a stream of income through advertising on blog/content websites that I will create and promote until the end of the year (Dec 31, 2010). The goal being to have produced a sustained income in excess of $200 a month. I intend to provide at least monthly updates on my journey down the path of blogging and internet marketing myself to a passive income.
